The Project national team participated the 12th European Sustainable Energy Week in Ukraine
The 12th European Sustainable Energy Week in Ukraine started October 2, 2021 as part of the information campaign dedicated to the European Green Deal (Green Deal EU) and will last until October 29, 2021 and be under the slogan “Opening green potential together”. This year the host city in Ukraine is Ternopil.
The Project national team in Ukraine participated the opening ceremony and related events together with the representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, European Commission, Public Council of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources, Ministry of Regional Development, Ternopil City Council Association of Ukrainian Cities, etc.
EU projects in Ukraine acquainted with their activities in the field of “green transition”. During the events attended the main topics for communication with Mr.Torsten Woellert (Minister Counsellor of EU Delegation in Ukraine), Ms.Chloe Allio (Head of Operation Section of Economic cooperation, infrastructure and environment of EU Delegation to Ukraine), Mr.Gregory Tsouris (Head of the European Green Deal at EU Delegation of the EU to Ukraine), Mr.Krzysztof Gierulski (Policy Officer of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy of Support Group for Ukraine of European Commission), Ms.Svitlana Berzina (Head of the Public Council of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resource), Mr.Taras Demkura (Vice President for Regional Development, Head of the Ternopil Oblast Regional Office of the International Chamber of Commerce ICC Ukraine) were:
- initiatives of the authorities, municipalities, the private sector, civil society on circular economy and sustainable use of resources;
- joint actions to support government stakeholders in approximation EU and national legislation of Ukraine in the sphere of waste management, environment pollution, climate change and sustainable development;
- capacity of Green Deal for green modernization, opportunities for cooperation between various government and donor projects and programs to assist Ukraine in fulfilling its obligations under international agreements, the introduction of sustainable production on a circular economy
In a mean of cultural diplomacy Mr.Taras Demkura (Vice President for Regional Development, Head of the Ternopil Oblast Regional Office of the International Chamber of Commerce ICC Ukraine) presented the participants Ternopil Ethnic Museum.
