Project Management Unit (PMU)
The project management unit (PMU) is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project and local monitoring of its implementation.
- PMU is organized in Belarus with support of UNIDO.
- PMU consists of the national project coordinator, assistant of the national project coordinator, technical, legal and other relevant experts.
- The PMU task is to facilitate to revision of the current legislation, development of manuals, inventory, labeling and waste database integration, and assistance in evaluation and selection of technologies.
- Before the launch of the project, UNIDO together with PMU develops a detailed project progress monitoring plan which includes monitoring of achievement of interim targets and fulfillment of tasks.
- Upon completion of the project, PMU’s functions will be delegated to relevant departments of the ministries of environmental protection and other government bodies of the participating countries. The equipment purchased as part of the project will continue operation on a cost-recovery basis.
